HANDMADE DOG TOYS

Handmade dog toys can be fun.

If you sew you can use simple patterns to create the dogs toy. You want to double stick the toy. Dogs tear them apart so if you stuff them use good stuffing. Our dog tears apart the toys and plays with the inside so I have restitched toys.

You can use a sock and make a toy with that. Our dog loves tennis balls. You can even get those at a tennis court. They don't like them after so many bounces but your dog does. So if your have a tennis player friend ask for old balls.

One idea I have for a dog toy is a kids basketball hoop. I took one and cleaned it up and took off the bells of a playschool hoop. This is what I first taught my dog to shoot hoops with.

I have also taken a little tykes basketball hoop and added my dogs name to it. It says Patches Hoop on it. This I have used and trained her to dunk baskets in it. If you get creative you can use kids toys for handmade dog toys.

My husband likes to play football with the dog. Thus a soft handmade football from scrap fabrics. She can get this in her mouth and it is double sewed so she doesn't tear it apart. You can use old toys and tear them apart for patterns. .

Another idea for handmade dog toys - You can attach a ball to a tie out leach and make a ball to retrieve. This works well if your dog isn't good at fetching yet. Clothes line makes good to wrap a few times for a tug of war toy..

Handmade dog toys are not difficult to make you just need imagination and a few skills..

You will have pride in the fact that your made the toys and you can be assured that they will be safe for your dog. Have fun and make your dog a new toy!.
