CHOOSING PETS FOR YOUR CHILDREN - 3 THINGS YOU NEED TO ASK YOURSELF
People often choose a pet based on other people's recommendation, but it may not suit them perfectly. The reasons for this unsuitability varies from one person to another depending on several factors. These factors are the ones that you will need to ask for yourself to decide which pets would really suits you best. The first question is "Am I ready to take heavy or light responsibility?" Some pets needs more care than the others. Dogs and cats would definitely need more grooming than fish, birds, or reptiles. If you wanted a pet with the least amount of responsibility, fish is the best choice, but if you do not mind heavier responsibility, dogs and cats are the best choice. The second question is "Would the environment of my house be suitable?" The environment factors could be climate, house, and neighbours' pet. Several breeds of animals may suffer in hot climates while other suffers in cold climate, so it is an important factor to be considered for your pet's well-being. If you live in a large house, you may get large ones like dogs or cats. If your house is moderate, you might want to stick with fish and other small animals. This is to prevent the large animals from trashing your furniture and other ornaments because of the confined spaces. Think about your neighbour's pet. If your neighbour owns a cat, you might not want a dog to prevent disturbance or quarrel between them, and vice versa. The third question is "What is the character of my pet that I wanted?" Fun? Protective? Playful? Loyal? Cute? These characters would be the part that makes you love it. If its character does not fit you, you may ended up hating it and feel a heavier weight when you take care of it. Also, if you live in a dangerous neighbourhood, you may prefer protective dogs more than fun dogs to guard your house, but, on the other hand, if your neighbourhood is just fine and you would like to get a pet just to keep you company, you should get fun and playful animals.
