OWNING A PET RABBIT

A rabbit is a very cute and fun pet to have. Kids also love playing and petting rabbits. However, before buying a rabbit for its visual appeal...think through this first. There are some very important points that should be looked over before making this decision.

Rabbits do have teeth and they do bite. Also, unlike other animals, they don't like being held very often. In addition to this, they're very delicate. If you don't handle them right, their bones could be broken leading to injury or even death.

Having a small young child taking care of a rabbit can be a very bad idea. If a rabbit scratches your kid, how will they react? If they react by squeezing the rabbit, this is a bad situation. The kid could easily kill the rabbit.
Even though many people just cage a rabbit and leave it there forever, rabbits require more than this. They need lots of care and nurturing. Daily exercise, change of water, cleaning of the cage, and such are all needed for having a healthy rabbit. In addition to this, you must prepare your house for a rabbit if you let it out. Rabbits can bite and gnaw at furniture and such.

Leaving a rabbit alone in its cage all day is not nice at all. Rabbits are social creatures and lack of contact can make them lonely. What is the point of having a rabbit if it's in a cage all the time? A portrait of a rabbit hanging on the wall is a much better idea.

It's really not hard to care for a rabbit. Grooming and caring for your rabbit will only take around ten minutes a day. And during this time you should check for any issues such as bugs or bruises. Rabbits are very delicate and should be cared for very carefully. A simple case of diarrhoea could be very harmful to a rabbit.
