RABBIT CHEWING PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS - RABBIT CARE
Chewing can be a very big problem when it comes to rabbits. When I first got my rabbit, it chewed up some very valuable furniture along with other objects as well. This article will show you how to solve this problem. Rabbits like to chew for many reasons. Their teeth are not like our teeth. They are constantly growing and thus rabbits are always needing to use them. Rabbits are known to chew carpet edges, electric cords, telephone wires, wooden legs, and a number of other household objects. Electrical cords are NOT something your rabbit should chew on. This can be fatal for your rabbit and even for you! If your rabbit chews an electrical chord and is electrified, it can start a fire and burn down your house. If you have an indoor rabbit then this can pose a big problem. Limit your rabbit to a couple rooms when you let it out. You need to prepare these rooms also. Rabbits like to explore through new places and go into corners. Prepare this place so that your bunny won't get trapped. Be sure there aren't any toxic chemicals or plants that your bunny can reach. Never let your bunny run loose without watching it. Cover up wooden legs with plastic or wrap. Your rabbit still will want to chew no matter what. To prevent damage, give your rabbit chewing blocks and other items for it to chew. Rabbits need to have healthy materials for their teeth. Providing these can easily solve the problem of chewing and ruining furniture.
