HOW TO SOLVE RABBIT URINE PROBLEMS

Rabbits are very clean animals. But they pee nonetheless. Potty training is something you definitely need to train your rabbit to do. If your rabbit is indoors, this is really something you need to do. Having a rabbit outdoors in a cage can benefit with this as well. You only will have to clean the litter box of your rabbits.

When I first had a rabbit, I'd have to clean the entire cage because it'd go to the bathroom everywhere. Now that I've learned how to train my rabbit, I only have to change the litter box.

Rabbits are known to pee all around houses when let out. The reason is to mark their territory.

Rabbits may seem not territorial but they are. Urinating on a spot is a rabbits way of stating "this is my spot!"

Males are the most guilty of having urination territorial problems. You can fix this problem by neutering your rabbit. But this is only effective if your rabbit is urinating for territorial purposes only.

Rabbits can urinate many places for many reasons
*not enough litter boxes
*medical problems
*behavioural

The best way to fix this urination problem is to potty train your rabbit. It will take some time but is well worth it. I go in full detail how to potty train in Rabbit Training Guide.

Basically, to potty train your rabbit you must use positive reinforcement. When your rabbit uses the litter box you reward your rabbit. The key is to start small. Don't expect your rabbit to run across the house to use the litter box. Place it very close. Then slowly start moving it farther away.

Before you know it, your rabbit will be running out the doggies door to use the bathroom!
