TEACHING YOUR KIDS RABBIT CARE
Kids love cute things that feel nice. Rabbits fulfil this easily. The only problem is, rabbits aren't as simple to let everyone touch and hold them. Kids want to play with their rabbits all the time but this is not what most rabbits want. Teaching your kids rabbit care can make for a much happier bunny and child. In general, rabbits are very social animals. They live in groups in the wild and enjoy the companion with humans...when done right. Rabbits are different than humans and like different things. They do not like being held off the ground very often. Also, they don't like to play all the time. Sometimes rabbits just like to relax and be calm. Kids that have new animals usually want to play with them all the time. Rabbits won't enjoy this 24/7 play time. When a rabbit bites at or scratches at a kid because it's annoying it, the child may cause injury to the bunny by dropping it or hurting it. Rabbits are extremely delicate and can break bones easily.
The environment which you place your bunny is also important. Rabbits have very sensitive noses. They're sniffing all the time. Perfumes and chemicals are strong to their nose and they do not like that. Also, their ears are sensitive as well. Loud noises and such will hurt their ears. Kids must learn that rabbits must be handled differently than cats or dogs. Fast movements and such don't get rabbits excited. It makes them scared for their lives.
